Fake nails, I missed you. Not having to worry about janky, chipped nails for two weeks, the instant attitude and hand talking that comes with you, the added accessory you become. As always, I like to tip toe the line between tasteful and tacky when it comes to my nails, and have a lot of fun with them. With the added advice from the awesome new nail person at Ele Ela International Salon, this awesomeness resulted.

Chanel has been on fire with its sold-out "Jade" nail polish. It is now available on eBay for up to $200.
"Vendetta" is a sumptuous, deep metallic purple that echoes the rich jewel tones that have been coming down the runways recently. It's the perfect balance between being on trend and having a staple in your nail polish collection. This is because "Vendetta" is dark enough to be a classic shade of purple, and is something different from your basic red, wine or neutral colors. Stop by the Chanel counter and check it out for yourself--it caught my eye and I'm sure it'll catch yours too. (You can also order it by clicking on the nail polish bottle above!!!)
Almost every nail polish company has a neon pink shade. Not many get this bright. Milani's "Electric Pink" gets the 1980s thumbs up. The color is insane, and it has a slight matte finish, which makes it all the more cool. Best part??? It only costs $3.29 at Walgreens (God, I love that store!!!) Once you're hooked and can't stop staring at your nails, visit the Milani website to discover their 45 other nail colors.

As I took a moment to catch up with my magazine reading, flipping through the stack of Vogue and Elle magazines, I discovered a strong trend for Spring and Fall 2008. Ads for Dior, Nars and other big name companies featured the renaissance of the vamp--dark lips, skinny arched brows and serious attitude. Runway shows also featured this striking look, made popular in the 20s by such starlets as Jean Harlow. If you want to get the dark lip right, I suggest looking at Harlow and other stars of the time, who truly pulled off an effortless yet chic and polished look. Always remember to keep the eyes lighter, as you want one feature to stand out while the others are subdued. If your eyes are dark, your lips are not and vice versa. Sometimes you can have a somewhat smoky eye while rocking dark lips, but don't overdo it, unless you want to be mistaken for one of those girls in the Robert Palmer videos.
P.S. If you didn't know, Robert Palmer did kick ass. I may just dress up as a Robert Palmer video girl for Halloween, though I wouldn't rock the look on the regular. I'd be "Simply Irresistable!!!"
